As of October 2025, funding for the people's garden initiative is currently unavailable for the unknown future. The original grant was completed successfully in 2024 with the full amount of funds allocated to new gardens across Rhode Island. The current federal government is responsible for renewing this project's funding. Until we are awarded a renewed program, the People's Garden project is not taking new applications until further notice. If you have questions regarding your people's garden grant application or funding, contact Gennifer Keller at gkeller.nricd@gmail.com.
We invite you to learn more about this program below, and to visit the local community garden in your neighborhood.
